The final act of the PP convention becomes a mass bath for the popular leader
This time not even Isabel Díaz Ayuso overshadows him. In an act meticulously organized so that Pablo Casado looks powerful and receives a comfortable mass bath, affiliates and supporters of the PP from all over Spain have filled the bullring in Valencia. Many of them have not even been able to enter. In a festive atmosphere, with almost 28 degrees and the sun beating down beautifully, Casado has addressed those who were waiting their turn on the street: «Thank you very much. All forecasts have been exceeded. The PP has once again filled the bullring of Valencia! ».
To the sounds of ‘La mano arriba’, animated by El Pulpo, a regular announcer and DJ of the PP parties, the attendees have been waiting for Casado’s arrival while giant screens showed his tour through the streets of Valencia. At 11:10, when everyone was bouncing and dancing, it was ordered “for security reasons” to vacate “as soon as possible” the upper ring of the square. After a second of doubt, the assistants were withdrawing from the highest area of the arena. “Thank you. This is the PP, a ruling party. In other formations they would have burned the place above, “slipped the announcer. As they descended, to the applause of the audience, the pasodoble ‘Valencia’ sounded.
At the entrance of the enclosure, the volunteers distributed blue hats with the PP symbol, bracelets with the Spanish flag and bottles of water. There were also orange backpacks with the terns, but those were harder to come by. Inside the arena, the cries of ‘president, president’ have begun to increase. Meanwhile, abroad, before even officially starting the event (scheduled for twelve o’clock), Casado recalled the moments in which, as a grassroots member, he had to be enveloping ballots, filling stadiums, going by bus to exercise as auditor in the Basque elections …
Casado has finally entered at a quarter to twelve. People have stood up, unsheathed their cell phones and tried to capture the moment of their entry. Over the loudspeaker the song ‘We are the people we’ve waiting for’, by Martin Garrix, Bono and The Edge sounded. Casado was walking through the square through the burladero, like a rock star, waving and high-fiving. In a few minutes he will go up on stage and give a speech. But it seems that words will be the least of it. The coup has already achieved it.
