TASS: three FSB officers were accused of bribes worth five billion rubles
Three officers of the “M” department of the Russian FSB were accused of attempting to take bribes in the amount of more than five billion rubles, and a preventive measure was chosen for them, reports TASS with reference to law enforcement agencies.
The department is engaged in counterintelligence support and combating corruption in the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other law enforcement agencies.
Two defendants, Alexey Tsarev and Alexey Manyshkin, made a deal with the investigation and are under house arrest, the material says. The third, Alexander Ushakov, is also charged with organizing a criminal community using his official position, and he was taken into custody.
In November, it became known that the Moscow Garrison Military Court had begun a trial of two retired FSB majors, who were accused of extorting bribes from two businessmen for dropping criminal cases. In particular, it follows from the investigation that in 2014 the men received a million dollars from one of them, promising to resolve his problems with law enforcement agencies, but in the end they did nothing.
