“Regionale” is born, the new brand that passengers will find on Trenitalia trains when moving around their city or region. Not just a distinctive feature that aims to strengthen the FS Group’s attention towards commuters, students, workers and tourists, but a real style based on sustainability, accessibility, innovation and attention to people who travel by train.
The innovations of the new brand were presented today at the Rome Ostiense station by the CEO of Trenitalia Luigi Corradi.
In 15 years, Trenitalia’s regional transport has experienced a period of real revolution, not only as regards the new trains, but also for the services, increasingly based on intermodality, together with a comfort that over time has gathered the positive opinion of passengers and recognition of stakeholders. These results are the result of constant commitment and close collaboration with the various Regions involved, which led to the stipulation of long-term Service Contracts.
This synergy has enabled the delivery of 500 regional trains through a constantly evolving renewal process. By 2027, the number of new trains will exceed 700 double-deck, single-deck and hybrid electric trains. A significant investment which, from 2018 to 2027, amounts to over 7 billion euros for the renewal of the fleet, to which must be added another 3 billion destined for the implementation of technologies and advanced maintenance.
The new Regional brand is characterized by the green color and soft, clean lines, to define a simple and sustainability-oriented approach, distinctive values of the service.
The launch of the new identity and the complete review of the train liveries reinforce the phase of great change and transformation that regional transport is implementing. They also testify to the work carried out with the ability to look forward, in line with the needs of a generation moving between change, sensitivity towards environmental issues and transformation in the way of travelling.
Regionale aims to be a symbol strongly rooted in the collective imagination of those who travel, but also a strategic choice that aims to enhance communities, territories and metropolitan areas, where interconnection with other modes of transport becomes fundamental.
With over 400 million passengers a year and more than 6,000 trips daily, Regionale is preparing to welcome the new challenges that look at sustainability understood in its triple meaning: environmental, economic and social.
To celebrate the new Regional, the appointment is scheduled for 4 and 5 October, at the Schuster Park in Rome, with the Rebel Revolution Festan initiative between music and entertainment, in collaboration with RTL 102.5 and Radio Zeta.
