The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has become aware, through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the Valencian Community regarding the presence of histamine in tuna pizzas frozen Consum brand, made in Italy.
The company has reported the incident to the competent authorities, in compliance with the law and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population. For this reason, it has proceeded to withdraw the product from sale and has made a communication on its website.
Specifically, the product is a 370-gram frozen tuna pizza, Consum brand, with a cardboard container and the alert affects lot numbers NE16, NE25, NE09, NF27, NF23, NG08, NB17, NB24, NC03 and NH05 . According to the information available, the distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Aragon, Catalonia, Castile-La Mancha, the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community.
The information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI) in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.
The AESAN specifies that, with the information available, there is no record in Spain of any reported case associated with this alert. In addition, it recommends that people who have products affected by this alert at home refrain from consuming them and return them to the point of purchase.
