These are some of the recommendations that WHO, together with the German Federal Center for Health Education (BZGA) and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), have developed for public health on the occasion of the European Championships. The tips, available online, offer easily accessible information on topics ranging from vaccinations travelers may need before traveling to information on how to protect themselves from various diseases, such as respiratory and tick-borne diseases. As temperatures rise, they offer guidance on how to behave in hot weather, prevent sunstroke and stay hydrated. The handbook also recommends that fans pay attention to the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis, with websites and telephone numbers useful for anyone who needs help from a doctor. “In Germany you can only buy alcohol if you are of age, but if you are 16 you can get beer and wine but not liqueurs and spirits,” the guide reminds us. From April 1st 2024 in Germany over 18s can smoke cannabis with a maximum limit of 25 grams which is equivalent to personal possession in public.
