The first lady published a video on her Instagram account in which she spoke directly to the festival run by the NGO Global Citizen
First lady Janja da Silva published this Sunday (September 29, 2024) a video straight from Central Park, in New York, speaking in English and calling on festival participants Global Citizen to help end poverty and hunger.
“In 2025, Brazil will host COP30 in the heart of the Amazon. People from all over the world will debate the future of the planet with their feet on that ancestral territory. Take action to end poverty now and to combat climate change. This is a call for transformation towards a more just, supportive and sustainable world. Enjoy the festival”he declared.

The North American edition of the festival also takes place this month in Central Park. The shows will be by Post Malone, Doja Cat, LISA, Rauw Alejandro and Jelly Roll.
In the publication, Janja calls on people to go to Belém for COP30, a UN (United Nations) climate event, to be held in 2025 in the capital of Pará.
“I was unable to be present on the #GlobalCitizenFestival stage yesterday, in New York, but I sent my message to global citizens to encourage their governments to join Brazil in the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, the main initiative of the Brazilian presidency of @g20org ”wrote the first lady.
Janja’s video came hours after the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, confirmed that Belém (PA) will have a Coldplay concert before COP30 in 2025.
“It’s confirmed! It is with great joy that we receive the news that the 2025 Global Citizen festival will be in Belém. We are waiting for the band Coldplay in our city. See you there!”wrote the minister in your profile on Instagram.
The government of the State of Pará negotiated to host an edition of the NGO Global Citizen to Belém just before COP30, a UN (United Nations) climate event, to be held in 2025 in the capital of Pará.
Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, is one of the NGO’s global leaders. The idea would be to hold the festival in the capital of Pará 15 to 20 days before COP30 effectively. The other artists who will participate in the festival are expected to be announced on November 17, 2024.
