32 years old, he only has one precedent with Spanish teams in Granada’s victory against Teuta of Albania by 0-4 in 2020
The UEFA has appointed the French Willy Delajod as the referee who must dispense justice in the match between Real Betis and Copenhagen on the second day of the League phase of the Conference. The Frenchman will be assisted by his compatriots Erwan Finjean and Philippe Jeanne on the wings, with Marc Bollengier as the fourth official and with Benoit Millot and Mathieu Vernice from the VAR.
Delajod, 32 years old, stood out for his precocity in the world of refereeing since he made his debut in Ligue 1 in his country in 2018, at the age of 25, in Strasbourg-Nice and at 27 he did so in the Europa League preview precisely refereeing a Spanish team, Granada, against Teuta of Albania in a clash that ended 0-4 in favor of the Nasrids in September 2020. In the red and white team then, precisely, the current Betic player played Rui Silva.
That was Delajod’s only precedent with Spanish teams given that his European career has not grown much. It has a record of four Europa League games, three Conference games and one Champions League qualifier. In Ligue 1 he has already reached 112 refereed matches.
The duel between Betis and Copenhagen will be played this Thursday starting at 9:00 p.m. at the Benito Villamarín stadium.
