In Mexican soccer, during the day before the tragedy in Querétaro, in which the riots between fans of the ‘White Roosters’ and the Atlas unleashed terrible consequences, the great prominence was taken by the Frenchman André-Pierre Gignac.
The French striker, who has become one of the best European players in the history of Central American football, due to his performance with Tigres UANL, surprised locals and others with a Batman mask at the presentation of his team’s line-up, in the duel against Cruz Azul, for date eight of Liga MX.
“Is he the new Bruce Wayne?”, asked the fans in networks. The answer is quite striking.
‘The Batman of Mexican soccer’
On the screen of the Tigres stadium, on March 2, the image of Gignac appeared with the Batman mask. That fact was added to some unique team shirts with the ‘Night Knight’ shield.
According to Tigres UANL, through its official website, everything has to do with an alliance with Warner Bros, regarding the premiere of the movie ‘Batman’, starring Robert Pattinson.
“The film will premiere nationwide (in Mexico), only in theaters, on March 3 and at Tigres we are pleased to be part of this launch to promote the hero of ‘Gotham City’ through our digital spaces, presence in uniform and in the stadium, plus a special interaction with the lead actor“, communicated the club.
“For this project, André-Pierre Gignac, top scorer in the history of our team and recognized ‘fan’ of the Batman character, joins as ambassadorwho emulates his favorite hero and gets an exclusive shout out from Robert Pattinson (who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman),” he added.
The commercials and the images with Gignac in the ‘role’ of Batman already go around the world.
