French Priscilla Gneto was defeated this Saturday by Japan’s Momo Tamaoki, in the semifinals of the under-57 kilos category of the Paris stage of the Grand Slam, after revealing that she fought with her cell phone in her kimono.

During the fight, Gneto’s phone – bronze medalist at the London Olympics in 2012 and European champion in 2017 – fell on the mat and was picked up by the French’s opponent.

The referee received Tamaoki’s cell phone and ordered Gneto’s disqualification from the match, which resulted in the Frenchwoman’s defeat.

The judoka still returned to fight for the Grand Slam, in the repechage and got the bronze in the Paris stage, after defeating the representative of Mongolia Enkhrillen Lkhagvatogoo.
