Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor in the knockout in the second set.
Freestyle match superstar Conor McGregor had to bow to defeat early Sunday in Abu Dhabi. Irishman McGregor played for the first time in a year, but the return to the cage was bitter.
American Dustin Poirier knocked out McGregor in the UFC Alliance Lightweight match in the second set. McGregor, 32, had never been knocked out before. He now has five losses in his 27-match career. McGregor had won the duo’s previous encounter in 2014 with a knockout in the opening round.
The match lasted only two minutes and 32 seconds. Poirier, 32, solved the fight by hitting hard first on his left and right after.
“I knew Conor was one of the best in the sport, but I didn’t care. I’m here to win, “Poirier boasted MMA UFC’s On Twitter in a published interview.
Parikin McGregor, who once announced his termination, acknowledged that a long match break demanded his taxes.
“You can’t do this sport if you don’t fight regularly,” an introverted McGregor told the UFC On Twitter in a published interview.
For Poirier, the victory was the 27th of his career. There have been six losses.
His plans for this year have also included a boxing match for Filipino stars Manny Pacquiaoa against.
