The protests against right-wing extremism and the AfD do not stop. On Monday evening, around 20,000 people demonstrated in Frankfurt for diversity and the protection of democracy. Seven of them report why they were there.
ZFor the second time, thousands of people have gathered in downtown Frankfurt to protest against right-wing extremism and the AfD. The rally is a demonstration not against, but for people, said Frankfurt Mayor Mike Josef (SPD) as one of several speakers.
The “Römerbergbündnis” called for the rally and around 130 organizations, companies, institutions, clubs and parties from the city joined this call. It moved more than 20,000 people to the Römerberg on Monday evening. Their own careers, knowledge of German history or concern for the good class community drove them onto the street: Seven of the participants explain in more detail why they were there.
