The city of La Spezia, Liguria and Italy mourn the death of an artist known worldwide and highly appreciated for his wonderful career. Francesco Vaccaronepainter and sculptor from La Spezia, passed away yesterday at the age of 84.
Born in Spice on 4 October 1940, Vincenzo Vaccarone attended philosophical and classical schools and, from a very young age, approached the world of art and painting, following the teachings of the greats masters Caselli and Bellani.
Already at the end of the fifties his works were on display throughout Italy and his influences were initially linked to German expressionism. Subsequently he approached several artists of theexperimental avant-gardelike the poets of Gruppo 63, and also moved its activities to other Italian cities such as Rome, Genoa and Milan.
There are countless condolence messages which have appeared on the web in the last few hours, also arriving from important personalities of culture and politics. Like the one for example Roberto Centiregional councilor of Liguria, who underlines how Francesco Vaccarone, with his art, has made La Spezia known in much of Europe and around the world.
Raffaella Paitasenator of the Republic, remembered him as “a man of extraordinary artistic and intellectual qualities, an authentic democrat, always attentive to the issues of his city, which he loved deeply”. What he lacks, explains the senator, will be his liveliness, the intellectual depth he had at his disposal and his ability to read contemporaneity.
Or even the words of Gianmarco Meduseipresident of the Regional Council, who painfully announces to his followers on social media the sad news of the death of the artist known in the Ligurian and Italian scene and offers his deepest condolences to his family and closest friends.
Vaccarone, as mentioned, died at the age of 84 years old for reasons not yet disclosed, while he was in his native La Spezia.
The article Francesco Vaccarone has died: “A star has gone out” comes from Bigodino.
