A 52-year-old Spanish teacher was teaching a class when his student fatally stabbed him on Wednesday.
His teacher the 16-year-old who stabbed to death on Wednesday will be charged with murder, the man’s lawyer said on Friday, according to the AFP news agency.
The 52-year-old female Spanish teacher had been teaching a lesson in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in southwestern France when she was fatally stabbed by her student.
AFP says that the perpetrator suffered from suicidal thoughts and took antipsychotics. The prosecutor says that the perpetrator justified his act by the voice he heard in his head, which would have urged him to do the act, and on the other hand, also by an argument with his classmate. It has also been reported that he was dissatisfied with his teacher because of the grades he received.
In memory of the teacher, a moment of silence was organized in French schools on Thursday. Students at the school in Saint-Jean-de-Luz were said to have returned to classes on Friday, with police officers guarding the entrance to the school.
