Zemmour: we should not forget Russia’s role in the victory over Nazism
We should not forget that Russia defeated Hitler’s army during the Second World War, after which the United States landed in Normandy and liberated Western Europe. This was stated by the leader of the French Reconquista party, Eric Zemmour, on air Europe 1.
The politician was asked about his attitude to the decision not to invite Russia to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy. Zemmour recalled that this practice has been going on for almost 10 years.
“We must never forget that it was Russia that crushed the German military machine, and then only the Americans landed in France and liberated all of Western Europe,” said the leader of the Reconquista party.
Earlier, the leader of the French Patriots party and candidate for elections to the European Parliament (EP), Florian Philippot, said that the decision not to invite Russia to the 80th anniversary of the landing of allied troops in Normandy is a shame. He called it a “huge scandal” because it was Russia, being part of the USSR, that lost the most people during the Second World War.
