For Fabio Quartararo and Sebastien Ogier it’s a special day. The two French pilots, in fact, will receive two prestigious honors, the most important for a citizen of the Alps: entry into the Legion of Honor. The two riders, respectively MotoGP and WRC world champions, were awarded the honor by decree of the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron of 13 July 2022. Both will have the degree of Knightthe lowest level of a scale that also includes an Officer, Commander, Grand Officer, Grand Cross and Grand Master (that of the head of state).
Ogier and Quartararo are not the first French sportsmen to receive this honor. Indeed, they are in great company: from Sébastien Loeb to Didier Auriol, from Dany Dieudonné to Alain Prost, passing through Jean Pierre Beltoise, Jean Alesi and Henry Pescarolo. Jean Todt and Michael Schumacher are also part of it.
