New daily record of vaccinations in France against Covid-19 with 792,339 injections counted at 6pm, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced. In detail, 269,776 first doses were administered yesterday, according to the Castex office, the day after Emmanuel Macron’s announcements to speed up the campaign.
The figure of over 792 thousand injections refers to those counted up to 18, so it will be updated with the injections of the following hours, explained Castex. Of these, nearly 260,000 were the first dose. The record of daily administrations came in the aftermath of President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement that he wanted to speed up the vaccination campaign against Covid.
Macron had announced the mandatory vaccine for health personnel the day before and that from the beginning of August, the health pass will then be required in France to enter restaurants, bars, airplanes, buses and trains.
The French president had added that from 21 July the pass will already be required to enter cinemas, theaters and other entertainment venues. The health pass, he specified, means a vaccination or a negative coronavirus test.
