The expansion of charging infrastructures is one of the first steps that European states have promised themselves to take to accelerate the spread of battery-powered cars. Precisely for this reason, France has decided to allocate more 500 million euros to the creation of rapid charging points for vehicles of this type. Of this half billion euro of funds, approximately 200 million will be dedicated exclusively to the initiative Advenir, reserved for the installation of conventional columns in apartment buildings, in parking lots or on the streets.
According to reports from “Agence France-Presse”, a French news agency, tenders will also be launched for ultra-fast charging station projects for an additional 300 million euros as part of the France 2030 investment plan: part of this amount, we are talking about about 50 million euros, will be used for the electrification of heavy vehicles, through subsidies for the construction of dedicated charging stations. “These 500 million will allow us to create recharging points throughout the territory and in particular in our rural areas, in order to speed up the opening and cancel the gray areas of mobility”, commented the French Minister of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbar. We recall that the goal set by the French government is to reach a quota 100,000 charging points open to the public by the end of 2021: however, it is difficult, if not impossible, that this target can be reached within the pre-established time frame.
