The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are experiencing an acute shortage of soldiers. About it stated journalists from France 2 TV channel, based in France.
Observers recalled that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law reducing the mobilization age from 27 to 25 years. “In some villages there are no more men left, and women support the work of factories,” the authors of the material emphasized.
The article cites the city of Kamenka as an example. “On the streets of the city there are only women with their children and elderly people. The municipality sent 1,300 soldiers to the front from a population of 20 thousand people,” the material says. The channel's journalists also drew attention to the fact that women in Ukraine began to occupy positions that, as a rule, were occupied by men.
Zelensky signed the Verkhovna Rada law on reducing the minimum age of mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to 25 years on April 2. The State Statistics Service of Ukraine counted almost 500 thousand new conscripts after the decision of the Ukrainian president to lower the mobilization age.
