Franca Fendi, third of the five sisters of the historic Roman brand, died in the night at the age of 87 in Rome following an illness accused in her home in Camilluccia. She had inherited the fashion house founded in 1925 by her parents Edoardo and Adele, together with her sisters Paola, Anna, Carla (who passed away in 2017) and Alda, making it an Italian excellence known all over the world. Franca was purchasing manager and director of the store in via Borgognona. In 2018, during the presentation of his book entitled “Sei con me”, he explained how the family was particularly cohesive in the management of the company: both with parents, with sisters and then with children, the important decisions were always taken together. “Each of us – she said – she had a field of work in which to express her creativity”. Fundamental for the growth of the brand is the collaboration born in 1965 with Karl Lagerfeld, a well-known German designer who died in 2019 who for several years was the creative director of the brand together with Silvia Venturini.
