The coach of El Ejido, rival on Sunday of the granas, considers that the leadership will be decided in the last days and highlights the work of Manolo Molina and Mario Simón
Fran Alcoy (Valencia, 53 years old) faces Real Murcia on Sunday, a team with which he had the opportunity to sign last summer. The El Ejido coach renewed with the Almeria team shortly before Manolo Molina made him an offer. “What is signed must be respected, although the Real Murcia square is always appealing,” he says.
The Ejido arrives with many casualties to the meeting that will be played at the Municipal Santo Domingo. The suspended Jonxa Vidal and Paco Candelas join the plague of injured players. Despite these setbacks, the manager of the El Ejido bench believes that his team does not arrive at a bad time for Sunday’s game: “We have had a good second round and we have added quite a few points, although we are diminished by casualties,” he says.
What is clear in the celestial club is that they are capable of beating anyone. Although they were defeated by Hércules last Sunday, they beat La Nucía a few days ago. Alcoy requires its players to play well, “with and without the ball”, to be a difficult team for the rival.
“Training Murcia requires a lot, it is a club where only winning is worth”, says the Valencian coach, who was tested by Manolo Molina
dreaded visit
Fran Alcoy fears a visit from Real Murcia, a team he sees “prepared to fight for promotion.” He considers that it is a historic club that is in a fierce fight for first position: “Everything is very tight at the top of the table, whoever is psychologically stronger in those last days will be the one who finishes in first position.”
However, the El Ejido coach, who knows football in the Region of Murcia, since he has directed Cartagena on several occasions, admits that the Second Federation is an improper category, which does not correspond to Murcia: «In the end, As has already happened to other prestigious clubs, such as Cádiz or Real Oviedo, sooner or later they will leave, even if it takes a long time. This season, however, Murcia is in the same situation as other historical teams, such as Hércules, and as a group they have found economically powerful teams, such as La Nucía and Intercity.
Alcoy knows that Real Murcia is a difficult rival to beat and praises the work of Manolo Molina, whom he calls a “professional who has managed to make a great team with a not very high economy”. The El Ejido coach also has good words for Mario Simón. «He is a great coach, whom I know. He is in a very demanding place, where he is only worth winning ». The Valencian coach adds that the Grana coach “is doing very well, but he will have to have everything in his favor at those key moments, where the luck factor cannot be controlled.”
