The new facility aims to manufacture the GB200, “superchips” that are part of Nvidia’s Blackwell B200 line
Foxconn, the world’s largest outsourced electronics manufacturer that works with companies such as Apple and Nvidia, said this Tuesday (8.Oct.2024) that it is building the largest factory in the world to produce “superchips”.
The announcement was made by Benjamin Ting, Foxconn’s senior vice president for the cloud enterprise solutions business group, during the Hon Hai Technology Daythe Taiwanese company’s annual event that showcases technological innovations.
Ting did not disclose the location of the factory. The company’s president, Young Liu, told reporters that it is being built in Mexico, according to information from Reuters.
The new facility aims to manufacture the GB200, “superchips” which are part of Nvidia’s Blackwell B200 line.
In March, the North American company announced the launch of the new chip for the AI segment. The technology is mainly used for training artificial intelligence models. It is expected to be launched later this year.
