Epic Games has removed from Fortnite a music emote linked to Travis Scott after tragedy which took place last Friday at the Astroworld Festival in Texas where eight people lost their lives.
During the rapper’s concert I am 8 people died while around 300 were injured. According to the media, a sizeable number of ticketless spectators violated one of the entrances to the concert, causing an overcrowding of the audience. This coupled with the rush, shoving and general chaos during the concert, which was particularly animated when Drake joined Scott on stage, caused the aforementioned tragedy. Travis Scott was also the organizer of the concert and authorities are currently investigating the matter.
As reported Eurogamer, Epic Games has removed theOut West emote linked to Travis Scott, who presents, among other things, the performance of a short excerpt from one of the rapper’s songs, as well as all the other objects in the daily section of the internal Fortnite shop. Currently the house of Tim Sweeney has not commented on the incident, limiting itself to confirming the deactivation of the store, which will be back online with the next refresh, scheduled for tomorrow, probably without any more content relating to the rapper. Those who purchased the emote can apparently still use it in the game, but it is not excluded that Epic Games decides to permanently remove it in the near future.
Last year Travis Scott was the star of one of Fortnite’s in-game concerts, which was attended by as many as 27.7 million players. In addition, the rapper is a PS5 Creative Partner, a collaboration that in the future could even give life to a dedicated game, according to some rumors that circulated on the net last year.
