Fortnite player accounts will not be blocked.
The creator of Fortnite, Epic Gamesannounced it is “cutting off trade with Russia”, joining a growing list of companies boycotting the country for the invasion of Ukraine.
Epic Games shared the following tweet on Twitter: “Epic stops trading with Russia in our games in response to its invasion of Ukraine“. However, the company added:”we are not blocking access to accounts for the same reason other communication tools remain online: the free world should keep all lines of dialogue open“.
This means that while fans in Russia will still be able to access titles like Fortnite, they won’t be able to make any in-game purchases. As sales are stopping, this boycott is likely to extend to the Epic Games Store, the online store where Epic takes a portion of all sales made.

Epic Games is just the latest of the companies that has decided to take action in Russia. Microsoft for example suspended all sales of both games and consoles last week.
