Version 31.20 of Fortnite which is already available at the time of publishing this note has just added a new mode called Doom Day, which is clearly inspired by Endgame from Chapter 1 – Season 8.
Doom Day will appear in the Discover section until October 4 at 10:00 a.m. Argentina, 7:00 a.m. Mexico. In this limited-time mode of Fortnite32 players will join a battle between good and evil.
Players are divided into two teams, Doom’s minions and the Avengers’ allies.
What is the difference between both factions?
- Doom’s Minions: The objective of this group is to collect six arcane artifacts in order to prevent the Avengers from ever coming back. The first Doom minion to obtain an artifact becomes Doom’s Chosen One, a nearly unstoppable force with Doom’s armor and devastating abilities. Doom’s minion’s minions begin the match with supercharged weaponry, including Doctor Doom’s arcane gauntlets.
- The Avengers: This team of the Island’s mightiest heroes must take down Doom’s forces before they can get their hands on all six Arcane Artifacts. Doom’s minions respawn a lot, so the Avengers will be victorious when they manage to eliminate all of Doom’s reinforcements. That includes Doom’s Chosen One. At each respawn, heroes in Doom Day will have one of four randomly assigned arsenals, each based on a different Avenger.
You’ll also see Stark mobile arsenals falling from the sky in Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.
