Formula SAE Italy 2021 Class 1C
The podium of the Class 1C (internal combustion cars), saw first place the Joanneum Racing Graz team of UAS Graz, which scored well in both static tests, winning the Business Presentation Event, that in those dynamics, above all Autocross and Endurance.
In second position, MoRe Modena Racing of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, who achieved excellent placings in all dynamic tests (first place at Acceleration) and, in third position, the University of Padua, with the Race UP Combustion team, first classified at the Autocross.
Formula SAE Italy 2021 Class 1E electric cars
In Class 1E (electric cars) triumphed on Formula Student Team Tallinn of the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences / Tallinn University of Technology, with excellent performance in dynamic tests, in particular Acceleration and Endurance.
He took second place TUfast e-technology of TU München, third place in the Endurance 1E, followed by team KA-RaceIng E of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, with a good positioning in dynamic tests and victory in Autocross.

In Class 3 (presentation of the car project only) conquered the top of the standings UniBo Motorsport Electric of the University of Bologna, followed, in second place, from the AAM Driverless Racing Team of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport and, third, from the University of Brescia with OMR UniBS Motorsport team.
Formula SAE Italy 2021 Class 1D
Finally, in the Class 1D (Driverless), the first prize went to StarkStrom Augsburg Driverless by UAS Augsburg, followed by Ecurie Aix Formula Student Team by RWTH Aachen and from Sapienza Corse team of the University of Rome La Sapienza.
This year the class 1D saw 6 registered teams – 3 Italian with combustion cars and 3 foreigners with electric cars – of which 5 passed the technical checks and 4 managed to face the dynamic tests. Compared to 2019, the level, also thanks to greater reliability of the autonomous systems, he got up, but not for everyone in the same way: the team from Rome showed a robust and reliable driving system, but the performance remained on the same level as the previous edition; Augsburg and Aachen, on the other hand, they have grown a lot and in a structured way, so much so that Aachen has brought back the best time, among all participating classes, in the Acceleration test.
Furthermore, the introduction, for the first time in this edition, of theAutocross also for the driverless class, was much appreciated, both to be able to have a further test to deal with, and to see how the car behaves over short distances and in a little-known territory.
Formula SAE Italy 2021 Endurance race
On the last day it took place on the track the Endurance test (275 points out of a total of 1,000), which aims to evaluate the overall performance of the individual cars in the race and represents one of the main events of the competition. It takes place along a total route of about 22 km. Team members are not allowed to intervene on the vehicle during the test, while there is a change of driver halfway through the test.
The order in which the individual teams take to the track is drawn up based on the results of the Autocross test, leaving the fastest teams for last. The overall endurance time is given by the sum of the times of each driver, to which any penalties are added, compared with that of the fastest team on the track.
The dynamic events, on the whole, highlighted good performance. In the endurance test – which in the morning involved the teams of Class 1C and in the afternoon the class of electric cars – the good level of the participating teams was confirmed by low number of withdrawals, which occurred practically only in the last laps and for ordinary reasons related to the logic of the competition.
Some teams stood out for their excellent times. The endurance track, very racy and rhythmic and still faster than in previous years, with some key points that brought out the skills of the individual drivers, it was particularly appreciated by all the racing teams.
