The British team has been an Audi customer since the start of the Formula E Gen2 regulation for the 2018-19 season, after closing its partnership with DS, paired with Techeetah.
But with Audi leaving ahead of the 2022 season, Envision had to find a new supplier ahead of the switch to Gen3.
This will be the first time that Jaguar will supply a Formula E customer team since its entry into the championship in 2016, seeking to expand its development with the new powertrain by collecting two sets of data.
“I am absolutely delighted to confirm and announce that Envision Racing is committing to the Gen3 cycle of Formula E,” said Envision team principal Sylvain Filippi.
“We have secured a fantastic partnership with Jaguar, which is really exciting for us.”
“For me, the most important thing was to confirm once again that we are committed to this sport and to be extremely competitive.”
“In short, Jaguar is an absolutely perfect partner for us for many reasons; it is no surprise that in recent years, Jaguar has developed super-competitive powertrain technology, we can see that from our data.”
“We are very similar companies, we work in very similar ways, we are geographically very close, we get along very well as people, so everything has a logic.”
Jaguar Director James Barclay added: “It is clear that having factory teams and customers is more relevant now than ever before. Our previous strategy was to not have a customer team, but we have seen that now. it made sense, it was very likely that we would be contacted; and then from a strategic point of view it is great to work with the right customer team to strengthen both sides. “
“Sylvain and I started talking about it pretty early, but we quickly came to the partnership. For us it’s basically about having a competitive customer team, and Envision has absolutely proven to be just that element, which is really important to us.”
“They are a team that is incredibly professional in the way they run, they have a really good ownership structure that is clearly committed to the future, with very strong sustainability goals.”
“I am really pleased to say that together we have a really strong pairing, and we are really happy that we will have four Jaguar-engined cars on the grid with the Gen3.”
