The trend for special liveries also arrives in Formula E. We are literally talking about fashion, because for the next Monaco E-Prix DS-Penske has in store a livery inspired by the classic evening dress which dominates the many evenings scattered around the city. The DS E-Tense FE 23 will run in an elegant total black look, combined with the helmets and special suits that the drivers will also wear.
Homage to glamour
Evening events are one of the characteristics of the Principality of Monaco, which multiply between yachts and hotels when Formula E or Formula 1 arrive in the city. DS Penske will pay homage to this tradition by covering its single-seater in an entirely black livery with gold trim, a sort of negative of ordinary coloring where gold is predominant. For the occasion, the DS 7 4×4 will also wear the tuxedo, taking Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne around the Principality during their travels.
The Monaco E-Prix is one of the most important stages of the Formula E calendar. The championship does not fail to provide excitement on the Monegasque track, offering various overtaking opportunities for the compact electric single-seaters, designed specifically for city racing. It is no coincidence that the FIA and Formula E have chosen Monte Carlo to present to the world the Gen3 EVO which will be the protagonist of the next two championships.
All ready for the Grand Gala
The presentation of the tuxedo-style livery is curated by Eugenio Franzetti, director of DS Performance: “For this unique and special race we imagined an equally special and unique DS. Our car is inspired by the galas that can be found throughout Munich and she also wears the evening jacket for the “Grand Gala” of the Monte Carlo race. Not only have we created a fascinating livery, but also incredible suits and helmets for the pilots, inspired by the “Grand Gala” theme. The same will apply to the DS 7 E-Tense 4×4 which will take Jean-Eric and Stoffel around Monte Carlo, wearing the same livery as the racing single-seaters.”
