Miami gp will be on the formula number one race calendar in May 2022.
Ten Miami, which has become an F1 host with a one-year contract, plans to offer a different formula race for lovers of the racing class in motorsport.
The Miami gp will be driven on a track to be built in the vicinity of the Miami Dolphins home stadium, which plays in the NFL League of American Football, in Miami Gardens.
“We’ve really been trying to create a race track with a number of chances to overtake, so we’re looking forward to a really great race,” says the CEO Tom Garfinkel in an interview with the news agency AFP.
“Hopefully our competition is a little different.”
It is planned to build a 5.41-kilometer-long race track. The top speed of the track, which includes nineteen bends and three straight lines, is estimated at 320 kilometers per hour.
Garfinkel believes the race will attract a new U.S. audience to the venue. F1 is interested in taking a peek at the backstage of the series Netflix series The battle for the pole position thanks to.
“I know market expansion in the U.S. is a big part of the formula number one agenda right now,” Garfinkel says.
“There has certainly been a lot of interest among both sponsors and formula fans – including those who want to experience Formula One in the United States.”
Garfinkel says 200,000 people have expressed interest in buying tickets to the competition. A quarter of them are from outside the United States.
The capacity of Miami gp is planned to be 80,000 viewers.
The United States gp has been run since 2012 in Austin. Last year’s race was canceled due to a coronavirus pandemic.
The current formula season continues next in Austin. The formulas will compete in the United States on October 24th. The track does not yet have a confirmed contract for next season.
