Two Ferrari in places five and six, which would have been enough to have a slight to moderate panic out after the second Formula 1 race of the season at Ferrari. Just ride? That would be far below expectations at the company and fans. But three hours after the end of the China Grand Prix, it came even thicker: the German racing commissioner Jo Bauer complained about both red cars.
Charles Leclerc’s car was one kilo below the prescribed minimum weight of 800 kilograms, a miscalculation in the tire abrasion. At Lewis Hamilton, the rear spacer on the underbody was over half too much. The judges on the race track seldom could rarely decide so quickly, because the case was clear: there were disqualifications for both pilots, without further discussion, Ferrari admitted the mistakes. For the first time in Formula 1 history, a Ferrari duo was taken out of the rating in the same race. And so the Scuderia comes under a lot of pressure early in the racing year. What is great for the racing organizers: the Italians with their backs to the wall, that promises a drama with sequels.
:Stall order or stable war?
McLaren has what titles are needed. But before the Grand Prix in China, it shows what the challenge is when two drivers such as Lando Norris and Oscar Piatri are similarly good.
When what the transmission television stations “call the preliminary”, which is actually an endless podcast, is strikingly frequently talked about tires and, given the curve characteristics of the Grand Prix of China, it is permanently about “front left”, it sounds like excitement. How good, however, that this season is not forecasting and for the second time within a week, there is plenty of caprioles: there was a double success of McLaren, Oscar Piatri won in front of the World Cup leader Lando Norris. With the first pole position of his career and his first win of the season, the Australian had the shame of Melbourne forgotten when he had only become ninth after a driving error. He is now ten points behind his British teammate. Third was George Russell in the Mercedes. Defending champion Max Verstappen again won his biggest fight – against your own car – and became fourth after the disqualification for Ferrari.
However, the world champion will not be able to drive over his backgrounds forever, which is why there should be a crisis meeting at the Red Bull Racing racing center this week. It should be all about the vehicle mood, but those responsible will also take a detour through the HR department. Liam Lawson, the new sub -seat from Verstappen, does not get along by car at all. Last in the qualification: The New Zealander drives below the level of his shit predecessor Sergio Perez. It is already assumed that he will be transferred to the B team Racing Bulls at the next race in Suzuka and that Japanese Yuki Tsunoda should come to Red Bull from there. “We are concerned,” says consultant Helmut Marko on Sky.
Leclerc damaged his front wing – and then became faster
The tires “front left” only played a subordinate role for the actual entertainment in the second race of the season, and the threatened rain could not contribute. But as long as Ferrari’s radio traffic is transmitted, hardly anything else is needed. The two new teammates Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who gave the greatest possible harmonics in the season preparation, were already in the very first curve. The Briton passed the Monegassen, with damaging the front wing on the rear wheel of the rival. A slight collision with unexpected consequences: Leclerc’s car became faster and faster with about 20 percent weaker aerodynamics – greetings to the in -house wind tunnel.
The back man faster than the front, the top group not yet out of reach, that is tricky for the strategists. In view of the fact that two rivals fought for the supremacy in the racing team, certainly not. From the command stand, the clear instruction was made several times to have Leclerc passed. Hamilton apparently returned defiantly: “When he’s closer to it.” Like Leclerc, the engineers continued to put pressure on, but the Brit stubbornly gave back: “I say when we swap the space.” When he finally made space, Leclerc, why the change of position took so long: “This is a shame, I have the better pace.” His racing engineer promptly apologized for it.

As far as the discussion culture is concerned, the parties still have to approach. Hamilton later claimed that the exchange of space was his own idea after he had bogged down properly with his vehicle mood. That surprised everyone who could listen to the transferred radio sayings was really like that. Because Hamilton’s first announcement to his team had not been broadcast on television. If drama already, then really!
This also applied to the triumphant start of the race weekend for Hamilton. First he got the pole position for the 100-kilometer sprint, then he won the mini-grand prix. Faster than expected, he achieved such a personal victory over the many doubters on his performance, which he referred to as the “Kläffer”: “They have no shimmer of how difficult it is to be successful with a new team. A race stable where everything is completely different.” He found his sprint victory “shocking”, but also referred to him as a “springboard”.
Hamilton then did not make the personal satisfaction. As if he had guessed what would happen on Sundays after the race, he warned to the great serenity that he surprisingly finds out with himself at the moment: “We have to put pressure on himself, we must not lose our focus, we have to stay calm. Above all, the most important thing is.” Sounds like a sentence for the Ferrari boxing radio.
