Formula 1 | Formula 1 says it is aiming for carbon neutrality by introducing synthetic fuel in 2026

Synthetic fuel will be introduced in new hybrid cars.

Formula 1 has developed a synthetic, sustainable fuel that is scheduled to be introduced in 2026, says BBC.

F1 released on Monday bulletin new fuel. However, it did not say whether the fuel was synthetic, but a BBC source confirms this.

When burned, synthetic fuels emit only the amount of carbon dioxide taken from the atmosphere for their production. They are part of Formula 1’s plan to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Synthetic fuels are completely carbon neutral if the energy used to produce them is carbon neutral.

“The goal is to be carbon neutral over the life cycle of the fuel,” a BBC source said.

Synthetic fuels can be used in internal combustion engines and can help the automotive industry transition to carbon neutrality.

F1 plans to use the fuel it has developed in new hybrid cars from 2026 onwards. However, it can also be used in the combustion engines of ordinary cars.

The goal is for synthetic fuels to be used to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide. There will continue to be millions of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, although electric cars are becoming more common.
