The condition of former US President Bill Clinton (75), who has been in hospital since Tuesday, has improved enormously. Clinton has made “excellent progress” and is expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday, his spokesman Angel Urena said.
“He is in good spirits and has spent time with his family and friends and watched American football,” Urena said. His wife, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, visited him on Saturday.
The former president was admitted to Irvine Medical Center in California on Tuesday evening because of a urinary tract infection that spread to the bloodstream. During a visit to the American state, he would have reported himself to the hospital because of fatigue.
Clinton, who served as president of the United States from 1993 to 2001, has been given antibiotics and was “closely monitored,” according to his doctors.
Intensive Care Unit
According to CNN, he was in intensive care. This would be to ensure its security and privacy. The seriousness of his situation would have played no role in this.
President Joe Biden said Friday evening that he had spoken with Bill Clinton. “He’s fine, really,” he said during a visit to the University of Connecticut.
In the years after Clinton left the White House in 2001, he faced several health problems. In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery. He returned to the hospital a year later for surgery for a partially collapsed lung, and in 2010 he had a few stents placed in a coronary artery. Since then, Clinton would stick to a strict vegan diet, which helped him lose weight and improve his health significantly.
