Former Israeli Prime Minister Bennett said that Putin at the beginning of the CVO promised not to eliminate Zelensky
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that at the beginning of the special operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised him not to kill Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. The politician announced this in an interview with Channel 12, a recording of which he posted on his channel in YouTube.
Bennett said that in March 2022 he visited Moscow and met with Putin in the Kremlin. In the conversation, politicians, among other things, touched upon the topic of Zelensky. According to the ex-Prime Minister of Israel, he knew that the President of Ukraine was under threat and at that time was hiding in a bunker. “At some point, after three or four hours from the beginning of the meeting, I ask [Путина]: “Tell me, you’re not going to kill him?” He: “I will not kill Zelensky.” And then I told him: “I want to clarify, you give me your word that you will not kill Zelensky.” He replied: “I will not kill Zelensky,” Bennett said.
He also said that already on the way to the airport he phoned the President of Ukraine and said that he was not in danger. According to Bennett, after that, Zelensky recorded a video from his office, saying that he was not afraid of anything. The Israeli politician added that the President of Ukraine also made a concession. “Zelensky refused to join NATO. It was a huge concession on both sides,” says Bennett.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Zelensky had long ceased to be a possible opponent for Putin. According to him, this is due to the fact that the President of Ukraine did not solve the problem of Donbass and did not fulfill his obligations under the Minsk agreements, instead preparing for war.
