Sporre was chairman of the then FC Zwolle from 1989 to 1998. ,,After the rescue of the club, Gaston, as an experienced organizational consultant, led the further development of FC Zwolle during these 9 years with great passion and commitment. In this way he laid the foundation for the current football club that PEC Zwolle is now,” the club reports.
Sporre did not only work for PEC in professional football. From August to December 2013, he was interim director of SC Heerenveen.
In addition to his activities in football, Sporre worked in business. He concluded his career as chairman of the board of Achmea Zorg.
