The former basketball player and current executive director of CB Gran Canaria, Sitapha Savanehas defended himself this Sunday from a series of alleged sexual abuse accusations with a brief statement shared on his X account. In it, the manager denies said information and warns that the matter is “in the hands of lawyers.”
“Very serious and totally false accusations have been made against me. The matter is in the hands of lawyers to file a lawsuit and that these slanders do not go unpunished“, Savané shared hours after the dispute of the Canary Islands basketball derby in Tenerife.
Specifically, Savané refers to a series of publications made on the Instagram account @hastaelkonejo in which testimonies of alleged victims attacked by the player are shown.
“He played in Tenerife and Gran Canaria and now he is part of the management of Gran Canaria. I was an innocent little girl, he cajoled me, deceived me and abused me. He did terrible things to me without my consent. Then he spent weeks threatening me. He called me at night telling me that if I spoke he would make me disappear,” can be read in one of the anonymous testimonies that presents similarities with others published by the same account, up to three in recent days.
The images, shared on X by another account, have gone viral in recent days with responses that directly associate these anonymous complaints with Savané, player who played for numerous Spanish teams during his sporting career before making the leap to television and management.
