The tigress Camry, whose video has received many views online, suffers from blindness and needs the help of volunteers. Yana Oleinik, president of the ANO Hospice for Large Cats “Tiger House”, told Izvestia about this on January 20.
A video of Oleynik waking up a tigress sleeping in the forest and hand-feeding her was published on the pages of the hospice on January 18. After that, it gained many views, including abroad. In particular, users of the social network X (formerly Twitter) admired noted woman's act. According to some, hand-feeding a predator is “the most Russian thing” you can see.
“We help these cats live and get treatment. In front of you is Kamryusha – the same tiger who slept in the forest. Kamryusha, unfortunately, is completely deaf. She sees very poorly. Kamri suffers from epilepsy, so she has to take pills twice a day,” she said.
At the same time, Oleynik expressed regret that it was this video that gained popularity, and not the footage of the hospice’s team of veterinarians saving the lives of tigers and fighting for their health.
Earlier, on January 2, a wounded Amur tigress was found on a highway in the Khabarovsk Territory, while the driver fled the scene. Later, the Amur Tiger Center reported that specialists fought to the last for the animal’s life, but the tigress died.
