The United States Patent Office has made public a Ford patent that would allow the creation of a system of “hands-free” recharge for electric and plug-in hybrid cars. In reality, the filing of this patent dates back to August two years ago, but now its realization could really take place: it is interesting to note how Ford has focused on a system different from wireless charging for mobile devices (probably due to slower charging times), and has instead confirmed the apparently conventional charging system.
Trust in the classic charging flap, as well as in the connection to a charging socket as happens on all electric today. Basically, the real novelty lies in the fact that the insertion of the second in the first it would happen autonomously, therefore without the need for a person to physically perform the gesture. It has not yet been clarified by the carmaker of the Blue Oval how this system would work, the only certain thing is that if it became a reality it could really make life easier for many battery car drivers in the charging phase. Ford it is not the only company to work on technologies of this type: Michigan for example has given the green light to a new pilot program of inductive charging for vehicles that will see an entire mile of road with integrated wireless charging capabilities, while Volvo is testing wireless vehicle charging electrical in Sweden.
