We were already allowed to hitch a ride, but Ford has kept fairly quiet until now when exactly we could expect the Mustang Mach-E GT. Today they announce that the fastest version of their electric crossover will be released in the fourth quarter of this year. Not only that: it can be ordered from now on, and so the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT also has a Dutch price.
The Mach-E GT is available from 75,490 euros. For comparison: the entry-level version of the electric Mustang, the two-wheel drive version with the smallest battery, is available from 49,925 euros. For even more comparison: Tesla asks for the Model Y Performance, which comes in the fall and is comparable in performance to the Mach-E GT, at least 70,000 euros.
What does the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT offer for that price?
Two e-motors with a total of 487 hp and 860 Nm, four-wheel drive, MagneRide suspension and a Brembo braking system. You also get 20-inch wheels, sports seats, a thicker body and two new paint colors. Ford will also install an additional driving mode, Untamed Plus, and a battery with a net capacity of 88 kWh. This allows you to drive 500 kilometers according to the WLTP specification. Fast charging is possible up to 150 kW, with which you can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 45 minutes.
The performance? The Mach-E GT reaches 241 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. That last figure would, it must be said, cost you double that for a petrol-powered Mustang. What do you think: is the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT worth its price?
