Today, Sunday, Russia recorded the highest number of cases of Covid-19 disease for the fourth consecutive day.
According to official figures issued by the Ministry of Health, Russia has recorded 997 deaths and 34,303 infections with the emerging coronavirus, in an unprecedented outcome since the outbreak of the pandemic.
On Friday, Russia crossed the symbolic threshold of a thousand daily deaths, with 1002 deaths recorded.
The outbreak of the virus is due to the highly contagious “delta” mutant.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 223,312 people have died of COVID-19 in Russia, according to the authorities’ official toll.
