The Dutch coach said, in an interview with the club’s official channel, that he had put Ronaldo’s crisis behind his back, as he no longer thought about it.
The club terminated its contract with Ronaldo by mutual consent, two days before the start of the World Cup, following an exciting interview in which the Portuguese star directed harsh criticism of the administration, and said that he “does not respect Ten Hag.”
“He’s gone. This is the past,” explained the coach of the team that is in a preparatory camp in Spain that includes players not participating in the World Cup.
“Now we look forward and look to the future,” Ten Hag added.
Ronaldo, 37, failed to provide the desired level during the World Cup, noting that he started as a backup in Portugal’s sweeping victory over Switzerland 6-1, on Tuesday, in the last of the round of 16 confrontations.
The future of the owner of the five golden balls appears unknown, after he denied reports indicating the possibility of his transfer to the Saudi victory.
