In 2010 Michael Schumacher sensationally returned to Formula 1, after the first retirement announced at the end of 2006, as a driver of the new official Mercedes team. The seven-time German world champion found himself in the Circus alongside Nico Rosberg in a stable which then, with the advent of the hybrid era, turned out to be the absolute dominator.
Schumi did not have spectacular results between 2010 and 2012, with only one podium conquered. But he remained unchanged the respect of the opponents. In those years Schumacher kept his proverbial reserve about his private life, even in terms of automotive tastes. However, it is known that Mercedes had given it to use, as a personal car, a C63 AMG station wagontherefore suitable for the whole family. Today this car is on sale at Bonhams, with auction scheduled for February 3rd. The value assigned to the car is between 50 and 100 thousand euros.
The 2010 car, registered by Mercedes-Benz AG in Schlieren, Switzerland, is finished in black with a black leather interior, and with several options under its belt. If Schumacher had paid out of his own pocket, the additions fitted to the car would have cost a whopping 20,000 euros more than the list price.
After its use, the car passed to a Swiss owner, who drove most of the recorded kilometers between 2011 and 2015 before selling it to a Mercedes-Benz engineer in Germany. In 2018 it was sold to the current owner, who claims he only used the car during the summer months; he describes it as generally in good condition, with the last revision passed in 2021 at an altitude of 151 thousand kilometers.
A curiosity: in the original list of car drivers, according to Bonhams reports, Michael Schumacher is registered as Schumacher, Mickael. The car was used by the German driver for a limited time, however, until July 28, 2010. For fans of the great F1 champion the car is a good opportunity, with an apparently affordable price.
