The teller reviewed the money, inserted it into a bill counter and stamped a receipt that he gave to the depositor.
The others did the same.
“This action involves the execution of a systematic and organized scheme that becomes relevant since it involves one million four hundred thousand pesos deposited in the same branch, for exactly equal amounts,” read the INE investigation, which also detected that 70 people who withdrew 64.4 million pesos from the trust, at least 56 were Morena candidates, legislators and political operators.
“Here we are facing something similar to the Pemexgate case, when cash was collected…”, said the INE, which cataloged the parallel financing maneuver and reported its investigation to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Attention of Electoral Crimes, the Deputy Attorney General’s Office Specialized in Investigation of Federal Crimes of the then Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, the Tax Administration System and the National Banking and Securities Commission.
The name that Morena gave to the crafty trust was “For the rest.”
Those deposits were made on December 28, 2017 in 28 operations of 50 thousand pesos each.
Together they amounted to one million 400 thousand pesos in cash and all of them were carried out in 20 minutes (from 4:26 p.m. and 4:47 p.m.) on that day of the holy innocents…
