Football Zlatan Ibrahimović opens in his new book about his Hammarby investment: “I know it would have been better to invest in my own hometown”

The football star statue was vandalized after the rankings for the Stockholm club came to light.

Swedish soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic opens in his recent book Adrenalina – My Untold Stories events of autumn 2019.

At the time, Ibrahimović decided to invest a significant amount in Hammarbyh in Stockholm instead of his hometown of Malmö FF. After this, the statue of the star was vandalized several times and the text Judas appeared on the door of his house.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladetin the news shows that an experienced attacker does not regret his ranking. However, he describes the days after the decision as difficult in Malmö.

“I know it would have been better to invest in my own hometown, but now this opportunity came in Stockholm,” he says in a book that will be published in Swedish next Wednesday, according to Aftonbladet.

Ibrahimović, who currently plays for AC Milan, says his Hammarby investment felt like a good opportunity to do something good in Sweden.

“It was a gesture of gratitude to my country, and the supporters of Malmö did not take it very well,” he says.

Ibrahimovićin according to the supporters, the anger was not in itself related to the investment but to the fact that he said he would make Hammarby the largest club in Scandinavia.

“What else could I have said? I try to do my best in all the adventures I go on. ”

The star striker says he was worried about his relatives living in Malmö. He does not know the current location of his statue.

“But I know I’m still standing. At the age of 40. ”

Kovia the experienced statue was spray-painted and decorated with a toilet seat. The toe and nose were first cut off from the statue, and a rope was hung around its neck. The statue collapsed when its leg was severed.

“I think the young people did it. The older generations know that I have done good for Malmö and Sweden. I think it is sad above all Peter Lindelle, to the sculptor who did it [patsaan]”Ibrahimović says.

“The statue is kind of a metaphor for my life, because wherever I have been, I have been placed on a pedestal and then tried to tear down from there. That’s what happens to many successful people. ”
