Football | TPS crushed Jaro and qualified for a place in the Veikkausliiga

Home team TPS beat Jaro in the men’s Ykkönen promotion qualifying match 4–0 and advances to the league qualification. The team from Turku will face FC Lahti in the league qualifier, and the winner of the pair of matches will claim a place in the main league for next season.

TPS finished second in Ykköne, and FC Lahti was second to last in the league. TPS will host the opening game of the league qualifier on Thursday, and the second match will be played in Lahti on Sunday.

Olli Jakonen scored Turku’s opening goal in the 16th minute of the game, and Simo Roiha rushed through at less than half an hour and shot TPS into a 2–0 lead from a loose ball.

At the beginning of the second half, Jakonen broke through after Jaro lost the ball and completed the 3–0 readings. Entered the field from the exchange Daniel Rantanen made the final numbers of the match.

KTP, who won the first place, secured their direct promotion to the league earlier, and the league jumbo HIFK falls down the league ladder.
