Football | Three Premier League matches will be postponed from next weekend due to Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral

One of the postponed matches is the match between Chelsea and Liverpool.

English The Premier League has postponed more matches for the queen Elizabeth’s because of death. The Premier League had previously postponed all of last weekend’s matches to pay tribute to the late Queen.

Chelsea’s Sunday home match against Liverpool has been postponed, the Premier League said, according to the Reuters news agency. In addition, Manchester United’s home game against Leeds United has also been postponed, while Brighton & Hove Albion’s game against Crystal Palace on Saturday remains postponed, the league said.

The Brighton match was originally postponed due to railway works, but has now been postponed due to the Queen’s death.

“Seven out of ten Premier League matches this weekend will be played, and three matches have been postponed due to matters related to the Queen’s funeral,” the Premier League said.

“Following discussions with the clubs, the police and local security advisors and other authorities, there was no other option but to postpone the three matches.”

“At the time of the matches played during the period of national mourning, respect is shown to the queen.”

According to Manchester United, their match was postponed because police in the Manchester area are supporting police forces in other areas in the wake of the Queen’s death.

Previously The Football Association and the English Football League said the matches will be played as scheduled after the last round’s matches were postponed due to the Queen’s death.

The English Football League said on Monday that the Queen will be honored at stadiums across England.

“There will be a minute’s silence before the matches, the participants will wear a black mourning ribbon, the flags will be lowered to half-mast and the national anthem will be played in the stadiums,” the announcement said.

Arsenal’s Europa League match on Tuesday will also be moved.
