Football Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich was deprived of the right to serve as Chelsea’s leader

According to documents published by the British government, Abramovich has had close relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Football The board of the Premier League has exported the Russian oligarch From Roman Abramovich the right to serve as leader of the London Society of Chelsea.

The Premier League reported on saturday.

The reason for the actions is Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the resulting economic restrictions, which have also targeted many influential Russians living abroad.

“The decision of the board does not affect the club’s ability to practice and play the matches on the fixture list,” the press release states.

Abramovich was subject to sanctions because he has been classified as an oligarch in favor of the Russian regime. According to documents published by the British government, Abramovich has had close relations with the Russian president Vladimir Putin.

However, the British government is ready to save the Premier League, as it is allowing the club to be sold on the condition that Abramovich does not benefit financially. There is no precise information on how the sale would be organized.

However, according to The Guardian, potential buyers have been told they can approach the British government with their takeover bids.

Abramovich was willing to sell the club, threatened by sanctions, for about four billion euros.

According to The Guardian, there are at least four different buyers interested in the club: a British real estate investor Nick CandySwiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyssa U.S. billionaire and co-owner of the Crystal Palace in the Premier League Josh Harris and co-owner of the baseball club LA Dodgers Todd Boehly.

MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY Chris Philp said on Friday that interested buyers could approach the government. However, Abramovich cannot benefit from the deal. It has been suggested that the transaction amount be frozen or the funds channeled to charity.

“For the sake of clarity, no proposal will be accepted in which the proceeds of the transaction end up in Abramovich’s account. He can’t benefit from the deal, ”Chris Philp said.
