Football | Nottingham returned to the Premier League and signed a record 21 new players

The number of signings is the highest ever in England in a single transfer window.

Football Returning to the English Premier League after a 23-year hiatus, Nottingham Forest ran rampant in the transfer market at an all-time record pace.

Forest acquired 21 new players during the summer transfer window that closed on Thursday, which is a record for a single transfer window in England, according to Reuters.

The previous record, 17 player transfers, was held by Crystal Palace in 2013.

Reuters says that Forest spent nearly 150 million pounds, or a good 170 million euros, on their player acquisitions.

Forest made their last three signings on Thursday. Willy Boly joined the club from Wolverhampton, Josh Bowler of Blackpool and Loïc Badé as a loan player from Rennes.

After the transfer window closed, the club joked about its activities with a humorous update on his Twitter account.

Forest, who started the season with a win, a draw and three losses, is in 15th place in the Premier League after five rounds. There are 20 teams in the series, the three worst of which are relegated at the end of the season.
