Football Lionel Messi excelled in a rarely played match now called “Finalissima”

South American champion Argentina won the European championship match at the Italian Wembley.

Argentina soccer star Lionel Messi rose to the top when Argentina beat Italy by 3-0 on Wednesday night at Wembley in London. The match was called “Finalissima,” a grand final where last year’s South American champion and European champions met.

Messi scored two goals in the match and was the character of the match anyway. The goals were answered Lautaro Martínez, Ángel Di María and Paulo Dybala.

“It was a beautiful finale, a lot of Argentines [katsomossa]”Messi said after the match, according to news agency Reuters.

“This was a good test for us because Italy is a good team.”

For the fair, the match was a return to a celebrated hero after a quiet club season in Paris Saint-Germain.

The match also ended with at least one national team career as Italy’s legendary topper Giorgio Chiellini, 37, last played in an Azzurri shirt. Chiellini came on for the halftime. He played a total of 117 matches for the Italian national team.

Finalissima revived the match between the South American and European champions, which has only been played twice before, in 1985 and 1993. In 1985, France defeated Uruguay 2-0 and in 1993 Argentina won the Danish penalty shootout. At that time, the matches were known as Artemio Franchi Cup.
