Genoa – The FIGC aims to host the 2032 European Championships and there is also one of the stadiums taken into consideration Luigi Ferraris, which was refurbished for Italy ’90.
After the 2024 edition to be held in Germany and that of 2028, still to be assigned, Italy wants to apply and is preparing the dossier to be presented to UEFA. For this reason, a FIGC commission, made up of three officials, visited the Genoese plant today accompanied by the manager of Luigi Ferraris Srl, the company that manages the stadium, which is 50% of Genoa and Sampdoria, and by emissaries from the Municipality, owner of Marassi.
The men of the FIGC have collected all the information by working on the current plan in the awareness that two renovation projects are already ready, one already partially implemented with the construction of the pits and the new press stand in the separate superiors but firm as regards the Distinti .
The Ferraris, already suitable for European club competitions, would need small interventions to host competitions such as the European or a eventual world championship.
