The victory from Spain was sealed by Kylian Mbappe’s goal.
France took the victory from Spain in the final of the League of Nations in Milan by 2-1 on late Sunday.
The opening goal was hit by Spain Mikel Oyarzabal 64 minutes of the match. French Karim Benzema however, smoothed the situation to 1-1 only two minutes later. The decisive goal was taken by France Kylian Mbappe in the 80th minute of the match.
“We showed strength of character because this team is very strong and will never give up and that is what we have shown today,” Benzema commented on Sunday after the win.
“The sign of an awesome team is that it doesn’t panic, is patient and waits for the right opportunity,” he continued.
In the bronze match played earlier on Sunday, Italy and Belgium competed against each other, with Italy also winning by 2-1.
