Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié joined Barcelona on long contracts.

FC Barcelona has acquired two top reinforcements in its ranks: the Danish defender by Andreas Christensen and an Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessién.

26-year-old Christensen arrives in Barcelona from Chelsea and 25-year-old Kessié from AC Milan.

The acquisitions are advantageous for the Spanish club struggling with financial difficulties, as both players change clubs on a free transfer. Their previous contracts expired in the spring.

Both Christensen and Kessié put their names to four-year contracts that run until spring 2026. The buyout price for both is an astronomical 500 million euros.

Christensen’s achievements include winning the Champions League and the Europa League at Chelsea. Kessié helped AC Milan win the Italian league last season.
